Project Description
Delft University of Technology
Delft University of Technology is the oldest, largest and most comprehensive technical university in the Netherlands. With over 19,000 students and 2,500 scientists (including 400 professors), it is an establishment of both national importance and significant international standing. The University collaborates with other international educational establishments and research institutes and has partnerships with governments, branch organisations, numerous consultancies, the industry and companies from the small and medium business sectors. The DC Systems, Energy Conversion & Storage research group has the mission to perform excellent research and education related to the integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage in DC networks and future (DC) transmission grids. The work focuses on finding solutions to the challenges that are posed by electric mobility (charging with renewable energy and inductive charging), smart cities, DC systems, and the integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage (electric vehicles, batteries, fuel cells) in (micro)grids. The research group has strong background and expertise in power electronics, including system integration of wide band gap devices.
